Apple prints
Materials: Apples (sliced in half), paint, and paper
This is a great fall activity for toddlers. Simply dip the apples in paint and stamp them onto paper. Cut the apples in different ways, vertically, and horizontally. This activity works best when you have a couple paint colors, and spread the paint in a thin layer. We used red and yellow paint.
Aquariums
Materials: Blue, green and brown construction paper, glue sticks, foam shapes, and markers.
We used blue paper as our background. Then students ripped brown and green paper to add sand and seaweed to their aquarium. Next, children used foam shapes to create brightly colored fish. Then they used our dot paint and markers to add bubbles and other details.
I love this activity because it has some structure and clear steps, but also allows kids to be creative. The finished product was fantastic and every aquarium was unique.
